I love October and all the wonderful colours it provides! When I’m in the car my eyes are just drawn to all the fabulous colours.
Last week I saw a bright red tree in the middle of a sea of rust, it was glorious! It made me want to bring a touch of nature into my home and I went searching for some fabulous projects to make. I was not disappointed.
There are some amazing tutorials available at the moment and I always need to remind myself to stop searching for project ideas and actually make something! Before you go and do the same, check out these gorgeous autumnal DIY projects.
Now, you may be saying – how is this tutorial for preserving leaves for my home?! Well…..
And this amazing autumn leaf wreath for you door would be fabulous to hang year after year. As long as you have appropriate storage of course ^_^
You may want to have some autumn scents filling your home and adding dried oranges, cinnamon sticks and wooden beads make a beautiful smelling decorative accent piece for any wall. This is a fabulous tutorial and you will need to translate it too ^_^
Another way to fill you home with the scents of autumn is with scented candles. I imagine these fall spice scented candles smell delicious. I have a candle from Lollyrocket called ‘Pumpkin Pie’, it makes the whole house smell like you’ve spent the day baking!
Have you ever tried gilding with gold leaf? It’s something I would really like to try but the cost is the only thing that is putting me off. When I see projects like this amazing gold leaf pine cone garland, I’m very tempted to try it!
I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw these crochet acorns and leaves!
And it’s a garland tutorial too!
I love wall decor. Adding something to your wall is one of the simplest ways to add decoration and visual interest to a room. I love the idea of making my own banners and if you love embroidery then this project is perfect for you! The colours are perfect for the season.
If you want to add a touch of autumn to your home but you aren’t so keen on the colour scheme, making this brightly coloured pumpkin cushion may be your solution!
And these polymer clay acorn magnets are the cutest thing I’ve seen in a long time! When you follow the link you can see the how to photos by navigating in the top right corner (of the black box) of the site.
I love all of these tutorials and you can always adapt a tutorial to suit your needs. You could easily substitute gold leaf with gold paint and glitter or change the colour of your paint if you decide to make the gorgeous little cushion!
Are you planning to make any of these?
